Chamfer (Solid) - Advanced Tab
The following options are available in the Advanced tab of the Chamfer dialog box:
Overflow
The following options define how overlapping is managed when creating the chamfer near to existing blends or chamfers.
Default |
If this option is active, the chamfer is created over all of the adjacent faces. This is shown in the following illustration where the hole edge was selected:

Retain surfaces |
If this option is active, the chamfer is created preserving the shape of the existing faces as shown in the following illustration:

Create sheet on failure |
If this option is active and the chamfer cannot be performed on a selected edge, a sheet entity is created. In the following illustration, the red edge is selected and the Propagation option active.

Local validate |
This option verifies whether the region in which the chamfer is to be created is still valid. If it is not valid, it blocks the chamfer creation. |
Retain Geometry |
This option can be used when a chamfer completely overlaps a feature. It allows you to decide whether to retain that feature or not. In the following illustration, for the red edges, the option is not active in

Tolerance |
This field is available if the Use default tolerance option is not active. It allows you to set another tolerance. |
Use default tolerance |
Activate this option to apply the default tolerance to chamfer creation. |
